so there were some total demon children at my job the other day, although calling them that is a an affront to demons everywhere, and to be honest i'm not sure that they were even actually children. maybe they were destructo robots. whatever they were their parents were encouraging their behavior. playing catch with sweaters. climbing shelves. wearing hats and ties and dragging them around and stepping on them. choking each other with said ties. grabbing the staplers from the register area and stapling each other's fingers. putting the then provided bandaids over their eyes and running into people. it would have been cute in a movie or soemthign but in person it was scary. what were their parents thinking?

so i'm going to stop being a hermit. i got a surprise phone call from tera, who i hadn't talked to in i don't even want to figure out how long, b/c she and her gf were in the city visiting friends. and it was really cool to see her again, and meet tanya (who was really cool) and get a valid current email address for someone i never should have lost track of in the first place. it should have been more sureal than it was, maybe, but it was a really good thing. must remember to call beth and thank her for giving tera my number. even if i did spend wayyyy to much money on mediocher french food. so yeah, i have to stop being a hermit. now i just have to deprogram the "no-i'm-busy" instincts out. and find my old phone book. and hope people are actually willing to call me back. but that i guess is the price for being so isolationist in the first place.

one of my customers stuck up for me! when my boss told him that i needed to fold things and she'd find him someone else to help him...he said he'd leave and come back on my next shift. so she had to let me help him, and she was embarassed, and he told her boss about the whole thing. she's going to take it out on me i know, but that was way cool anyway.

oh yeah, mighty joe youngs is actually a good restauraunt if far more expensive than i should even think about, but any place that has buffalo steak (very good actually), serves berneise sauce on the side with all its steaks (and a garlic sauce, and their house steak sauce) and makes their own coffee icecream with chocolate espresso beans has a right to overcharge for things, i guess. especially when they give you homemade peanut brittle with desert.
