i don't know what my job is and it's driving me nuts. i dont' want a job description to follow to the letter or any of that beancounterish nonscence. but i want a clue. my area manager is in my store 2 or 3 days a week and is hiring people for me, redoing my weekly schedules, and otherwise doing what she did as store manager. i wouldn't mind being her assistant manager again, i liked the job. i also liked beign store manager. what i don't like is this inbetween place where i don't know what i'm suposed to do and what i'm supposed to leave for her to do. so i end up doing things that she would rather do herself and having them done over, and i neglect things that i thought she would do and get in trouble for it. sigh my review is coming up though so hopefully we'll go over things then...she probably isn't happy about it either b/c it is definately a strange situation. i just hope my review comes before i get much antsyer.

my mom printed this page to take with her when she was going out to dinner with some family memebers i have not seen in at least a year. somehow makes me wish i had more important things to say here. oh well, maybe next time she'll warn me first so i can say something cool.

phil wouldn't buy me a pinaple today. he said i'd just eat the whole stupid thing instead of cooking dinner and end up with a bellyache and bleeding lips. he's right but, damnit, isn't a whole fresh sweet juciy pinnaple worth it? ok...so maybe he was right.........i just wish i could buy it fresh without buying the whole thing, b/c i have no willpower what so ever when it comes to that stuff

ok how cheesy is this - i thought i was being especially nifty b/c i noticed my guy was out of pens and bought some on my way to meet him at borders books in the cafe...only to sit down accross from him and find out that he'd noticed i was out of pens too and bought me some. the really fun part is that it made us laugh hysterically when we saw what the other had done. yes, we're weird.

some day's it's pathetically easy to make me smile. take today for example. i bought a book - psyclone by greg bear - b/c it's inventory week so we can't borrow anything. one of my coworkers was headed for the back room and i asked him to put it in the back - like on my desk or something. i forgot about my book and got out of the store and to the bus stop and realized that there was no book in my purse or my hand and that i was looking at an hour commute of boredom. until i stuck my hand into my coat pocket, and found my book. he'd put it in my coat pocket. for some screwy reason that just made my day. yes, i know i'm weird.

decided to stop being bitter about my job. it's not like i haven't had other offers and turned them down. i love books, and most days i don't hate people so i'll deal. it's not like i've made it a career choice so i don't know why i'm grousing about it so much lately...as far as a day job goes it fucking rocks.

i haven't been sleeping again. insomnia combined with the fact that i don't like sleeping. i don't like sitting still for a movie, let alone 8 hours. it just seems like such a collosal waste of time, heck i don't even have very many cool dreams. there are just so many other things that i could be doing with that time. of course, this will last about 3 days until i'm too much of a zombie to do my job correctly let alone any of those other things i want to be doing and i'll sleep again. sigh i'm so melodramatic some days.

how do you explain to a doctor that you aren't worried due to the fact that you get headaches every day because you always have headaches every day but that you are worried because the type of headache has changed? this is going to be fun.

bears and peartrees are no longer in my head...instead i've learned i can listen to song three on my james album about 18 times between "home" and work. *grin*

does anyone have a job that doesn't suck? i need one. actually i love my job, i just don't like it very much at the moment. i thought i could only get that conflicted about people, weird. i need to promote someone...but i have no one to promote. the person i hired for the job is learning at a hoplessly slow pace, one of the other people badmouthed the company to my boss, one of them has huge money trouble so i shouldn't give him the combo to the safe, and the other promotable person doesn't want keys. sigh. back to the hiring phase. i'm bad at hiring, i've had to fire more of my hirees than i've kept. but whatver, as long as i'm learning i guess it's ok.

update on the folk song in my head, my dad did know who it was - the modern folk quartet. unfortuantly it's not something i can go out and buy as it's only really available as a record for at least 80dollars or so...and when you add the price of a reccord player to that it's not something i can have...sigh...i guess i'm stuck with bears and peartrees in my head. there are worse fates i suppose

you know when you get a new album and play it forever and ever and over and over again until everyone around you want's to break it in half? i'm doing that with "pleased to meet you" by james at the moment. great album, great band.
